United Way of North Carolina Leaders Attend Reception at Governor’s Mansion

June 21, 2024. Last night, United Way of North Carolina (UWNC) leaders Brittany Pruitt Fletcher (President & CEO) and Ed Bonilla (Director of Mission Advancement) attended a reception on behalf of NC 211 for the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).

UWNC’s NC 211 service is part of North Carolina’s Emergency Response Team and is partnered with the NC Department of Public Safety. During a statewide emergency or disaster, North Carolinians are to call 2-1-1 and can be connected to resources relating to the state of emergency. The NC Governor, currently Governor Roy Cooper, is responsible for activating the 2-1-1 number when disaster strikes.

Pruitt Fletcher and Bonilla had a tremendous time getting to meet and speak with Governor Cooper and other members enrolled in VOAD.

NC 211 is an information referral service receiving calls and messages 24/7/365. Discussions and messages with a Resource Specialist are confidential and are offered in multiple languages. To call, dial 2-1-1 or (888) 892-1162 or visit nc211.org to search our extensive referral database. You may also submit a referral request form and you will be followed up with shortly.
