What programs are available to help veterans with housing?  

  • NCServes is an information and referral system specifically for veterans and their families. In addition to housing and shelter resources, veterans can use NCServes to find assistance with other basic needs, such as food, healthcare, utilities, and more.  
  • The National Call Center for Homeless Veterans helps veterans who are experiencing homelessness find and keep housing. Those in need can call 877-424-3838 or chat online.  
  • VA Housing Assistance can help veterans buy a home or refinance a home, as well as other services related to homeownership.  

Who is eligible for housing programs for veterans?  

While eligibility may vary, generally veterans and their families are eligible. DD-214 forms are typically required and most agencies will not provide assistance to veterans who have a dishonorable discharge.
