June, 2021: NC 211 has launched a new screening tool to help North Carolinians find emergency rent and utility assistance in their county. The NC HOPE Program (managed by the NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency) provides up to 12 months of rent and utility assistance in 88 North Carolina counties for those who are eligible. If a renter lives in one of the 12 remaining counties that is not covered by the HOPE Program, local governments are operating their own Emergency Rental Assistance Programs (ERAP).

Renters and landlords can visit nc211.org/rent-assistance to answer a few questions that will define the program they may be eligible for. NC 211 has also published eLibrary articles with information and helpful tips for landlords, tenants, and homeowners. These can be viewed by visiting nc211.org/category/housing/.
