Temporary Eviction Moratorium

The Supreme Court has voted to allow evictions to continue across the country. They blocked the CDC’s eviction moratorium, stating that the CDC does not have the legal authority to impose a ban on evictions.

How does this affect renters and landlords?

The most recent moratorium, put in place on August 3, 2021, protected renters from eviction in counties with high or substantial COVID transmission. With the new Supreme Court ruling, this eviction moratorium is no longer in place and tenants can be evicted.
